ALAIN is an industry icon, having modelled for just over forty years.
since a very young age, and as the son of a tailor and stylist, he had an interest in fashion but never considered that he could be a model as the market at that time was dominated by a very different look. while accompanying the owner of one of the best local menswear shops in brussels on a buying trip to milan , he was directly approached by fashion designer of the moment, claude montana to walk his show in paris. that opportunity was followed by appearing in the valentino campaign photographed by oliviero toscani.
since then gossuin has shot with the best in the industry, including paolo roversi, peter lindbergh, mario testino, ellen von unwerth , albert watson and pamela hanson. one of his favorite memories was working with herb ritts alongside supermodels stephanie seymour and claudia schiffer, which was followed by dinner with ritts and unexpected guest madonna. many of those shoots appeared on the pages of vogue, elle, gq, harpers bazaar, esquire along with several advertising campaigns.
he now designs his own line of mens tailored shirts and lives happily in paris with his cross eyed siamese silk point cat while still currently modeling for campaigns such as brunello cucinelli shot by alistair taylor young and most recently walking for designers like dior and comme des garcons.
